Mechanicsburg, PA: "A Good Place to Live"

The quaint town with the quirky name, Mechanicsburg, resides in the scenic Cumberland Valley. The name originates from the significant amount of wagon mechanics that were in the town at its inception. Today, evidence of Mechanicsburg's history can still be seen in museums, the historic downtown area, and in the old Pennsylvania railroad sites that still remain.

The town’s motto is “A Good Place to Live” and the town holds true to its motto! It is home to a variety of events, The Art Walk & Wine Tasting, Earth Day Festival and Jubilee Day (which is the largest, 1-day street festival on the East Coast). There is quite a selection of restaurants in downtown Mechanicsburg: sports bars, diners, cafes, a coffee shop and, for the European palette, there is a choice of Greek, French or Italian eateries, each providing a unique dining experience. Want to work up an appetite? Shop the one-of-a kind stores throughout downtown Mechanicsburg. Buy chocolate at Brittle Bark and teas and spices at Rosemary House and Gardens. Looking for gifts? Head to Mumma’s Jewelry or The Glitz Soap Co. For the history buff, browse the Civil War and More store.

The Mechanicsburg area offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Try fly fishing at local stream or hiking on the nearby Appalachian Trail. Attend a race at Williams Grove Speedway , check out the Rolls Royce Museum or explore the Oakes Museum of Natural History in nearby Messiah University.

If the idea of owning a home here sounds attractive, Landmark Homes invites you to visit their Mechanicsburg new home communities. Stop in at any of the Mechanicsburg communities that hold regular open hours: Cortland Park (55+) is in the Winding Hills neighborhood. Legacy Park, designed as a traditional neighborhood with retail space, includes townhomes at Madison Court at Legacy Park and and single-family homes at Wright's Landing at Legacy Park . A commercial and retail area, Market Square, fronts Legacy Park and is home to the award-winning Wolf Brewing Company . Close out community Danbury Glen also resides in Mechanicsburg, while the newly opened Autumn Chase is in Upper Allen Township.

The combination of Landmark Homes’ selection of communities and the town’s wonderful conveniences and comforts, truly make Mechanicsburg, “A Good Place to Live”!
