Landmark Homes Hosts 8th Annual Construction Trades Day

On Tuesday, October 8th, Landmark Homes, in partnership with Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, proudly hosted the 8th Construction Trades Day at our Summer Layne community in Annville, PA. This event was designed to introduce local high school students to the wide array of high-skill, high-wage career opportunities in the construction industry.

Since its inception in 2014, Construction Trades Day has evolved into a highly regarded event that has received statewide recognition from the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA) for its commitment to educating youth about the critical shortage of skilled labor in the construction field. This initiative was proposed by Landmark Homes’ CEO, Cliff Weaver, as a way to engage students and inspire them to explore rewarding careers in construction.

Construction Trades Day provides local students with hands-on learning experiences, offering them valuable insight into the variety of rewarding career paths available within the construction industry. As demand continues to grow for skilled workers, this event emphasizes the importance of high-skill, high-wage opportunities in fields such as carpentry, electrical work, masonry, plumbing, and more.

Approximately 250 students from high schools across the Lebanon and Lancaster areas attended, gaining valuable insights into potential career paths in construction.

In addition to the demonstrations, students were encouraged to ask questions and engage with industry professionals to learn about apprenticeships, training programs, and the different career paths available. Several of our own team members shared their personal journeys into the trades, further inspiring the next generation of builders.
