2019 Construction Trades Day

2019 Construction Trades Day

Landmark Homes, in partnership with Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, hosted the 6th annual Construction Trades Day on Wednesday, October 9th, 2019 at Hawk Valley Estates. Over 250 students, teachers, and advisors from Lancaster and Lebanon county high schools were in attendance.

Construction Trades Day is an interactive, on-site event designed to educate local high school students on the types of career opportunities available in the construction industry, highlighting the increasing demand for these high skill, high wage positions.

During the event, local trade professionals guided students through the process of new home construction, via live demonstrations and presentations at homes in various stages of completion. Each stop along the tour of homes featured a significant stage in the process of new home construction, such as framing, drywall, stone laying, countertops, and more!

Presentations included: Land Development presented by Hershey Surveying; Stormwater Management presented by Landmark Homes; Drafting & Design presented by Landmark Homes; Framing presented by Landmark Homes; Foundation presented by Weaver Precast; Kitchen presented by Lezzer Lumber; Countertops presented by Eastern Surfaces; Masonry presented by Signature Stone; Flooring presented by Quality Floors; Heavy Equipment Operations presented by Landmark Homes; Drywall presented by K2D Contracting; and Plumbing & Electric presented by Lanco Mechanicals.

Thank you to our Construction Trades Day sponsors: Guardian Transfer, McNees, Eastern Surfaces, Ephrata National Bank, First National Bank, GAF, Lanco Mechanicals, Lezzer Lumber, Mastic, and Superior Walls by Weaver Precast.

All of us at Landmark Homes are grateful for the combined effort from everyone involved, and hope the events of the day positively contributed to futures of the current youth, soon to be making career decisions and entering the workforce.
