Pantone has surprised us once again, by releasing not one, but two colors for their Pantone Color of the Year for 2021. They are the perfect representation of what we all are expecting from 2021 – a harmonious blend of happiness and luminosity, supported by strength and dependability.

Described as a color story that conveys a message of strength and hopefulness, we believe that the Ultimate Gray and Illuminating Yellow will be the perfect color combo to help us start fresh for 2021.

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute explains, “The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit.”

One way to introduce this dynamic duo into your home is to add pops of yellow into your décor by highlighting everyday items like throw pillows, rugs, or other accent pieces. In our Hunter home plan model home, our interior designer utilized yellow and gray pillows, and a few yellow accents pieces on the ottoman to create a welcoming space.

Decorating with Yellow in the Kitchen

Adding splashes of yellow in your kitchen can add a unique twist, and really make your kitchen stand out. Our interior designer used yellow chairs, as well as a few yellow accents on the countertops, to really catch your eye in our Madison Court model home.
