Lancaster Distinctive Properties: Morganshire

The following article was featured in Lancaster Newspaper's Lancaster Distinctive Properties:

There are many reasons to enjoy living in Morganshire at any time of year, but in autumn there’s one more — spectacular fall foliage.

This Landmark Homes community in Reinholds, East Cocalico Township, offers estate-size lots with expansive views of the surrounding countryside. And at this time of year, those views are particularly colorful.

But even though Morganshire is tucked away between two small villages in northeast Lancaster County, it offers more than just a rural setting with open space and scenic views. It offers convenience, too.

While Morganshire feels peaceful and secluded, it is just minutes from Adamstown, one of the nation’s most popular antiquing spots, and a short drive from shopping, casual and fine dining, historic sites and outdoor recreation.

It’s also conveniently located near Route 222 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, for an easy commute to Lancaster, Reading, Harrisburg, Valley Forge and Allentown.

Now is the perfect time to visit. Not only can you soak in the fall foliage, but you can also explore a quick move-in home that can have you enjoying life in Morganshire without the wait.

The two-story Ellington, at 120 Royal Horse Way, features a stone and siding exterior with an inviting front porch.

The open kitchen includes Cambria quartz countertops, a tile backsplash, island, slate appliances and a corner pantry. A sunny breakfast area offers access to the deck and backyard, and also opens to a great room warmed by a cozy gas fireplace with stylish tile surround.

The first floor also includes a formal dining room with tray ceiling, Craftsman-style wainscoting and chair rail, and a study with trim ceiling detail. A mudroom entry off the three-car garage offers convenient built-in lockers.

Hardwood flooring extends from the two-story foyer to the dining room, kitchen and breakfast area.

Upstairs, an owner’s suite with tray ceiling includes a private bathroom with expansive closet, double-bowl vanity and 5-foot tile shower. The second floor has three additional bedrooms, a second full bathroom, convenient laundry and a spacious raised rec room.

At 3,665 square feet, the Ellington is priced at $529,800.

For those who want to build from scratch, Morganshire offers 14 floor plans, ranging from the one-story Tyler at nearly 2,400 square feet to the two-story Westminster at just under 4,200 square feet. Homes start in the low $300s.

A low homeowner’s association fee of $390 per year includes weekly trash service.

Morganshire is located in the Cocalico School District. Open house hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 717-344-8748.

Directions from Lancaster: Take Route 222 North to the Denver/Pennsylvania Turnpike exit. Turn left on Colonel Howard Boulevard, then right onto Route 272 North. At the light, turn left onto Route 897 North, left onto Smokestown Road, then right onto Royal Horse Way.
